André Rieu is excited to present his new album “Happy Together”, released on 19 November 2021. “Happy Together” is a wonderful and emotional “ode to joy”, celebrating the return to life, happiness and love – a musical reminder of the joy of being together with friends and family – now that the world is opening up once more.

 

"Happy Together" spreads joy and shows how happy André and the Johann Strauss Orchestra were to finally be able to make music together again. Making music is and will always be their passion. The album and accompanying DVD has something for everyone – from "You are my Sunshine", “La Bamba”, "Happy Together", "Valencia", “Circus Renz”, “Estudiantina” to "When I’m 64".

Myself and the Johann Strauss Orchestra are so happy together. We have so much fun! In what other concert would you see the brass section performing and eating schnitzel at the same time? Or the male voice choir arriving on stage in a gondola?! You can see all this at my concerts and on this DVD. So let's be Happy Together!

Celebrating 70 years of the biggest classical musician in the world
Album 'Happy Days Deluxe CD+DVD' features 20 of the world's most famous celebratory songs
Alongside the album a special DVD including exclusive behind the scenes footage and of course a lot of music!

The legendary André Rieu will celebrate his milestone 70th birthday in 2019 with the album Happy Days, full of fittingly celebrational classics from the course of his remarkable career.

Fans can look forward to joyful hits like Eviva España,  Paloma Blanca, Mexico, and title-track Happy Days Are Here Again, as well as celebrations of romance such as the world famous Second Waltz, which marked André Rieu’s breakthrough in 1994.

Happy Days is also an homage to Vienna, the city that played the most important role in Rieu’s career. The King of Waltz will take you back to the Golden Age of Operetta with beautiful waltzes, lively polkas and jauntily can cans from The White Horse Inn, The Merry Widow, The Gypsy Princess or Countess Maritza – an unforgettable journey back in time to a world of amusement, champagne and love.

On his album and celebrating his 70th birthday with his fans, André Rieu says:

On ‘Shall We Dance’, Andre's fans are invited to allow themselves to get carried away in the romance of the most amazing waltzes, such as The Blue Danube, tunes from the operettas The White Horse Inn and The Csardas Princess, the Sportpalastwalzer (‘Sports Palace Waltz’), Strauss & Co and - of course - the famous Second Waltz, more beautiful than ever with 300 dancers waltzing in gorgeous dresses over the Vrijthof square.

‘Shall We Dance’ also has well-known favourites, such as the Italian Volare and Funiculi, Funicula, the majestic Concierto de Aranjuez, Beethoven's Ode to Joy and the emotional hymn of The Platin Tenors for the Notre-Dame in Paris with the beautiful aria Au fond du temple saint (The Pearl Fishers' Duet) from the opera The Pearl Fishers by Georges Bizet. Admire the fantastic voices of world-famous sopranos with performances of On My Own from Les Misérables, Ebben Ne Andro Lontana from the opera La Wally or Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Lose yourself in the romance of The Lonely Shepherd, enjoy the instrumental ‘competition’ between the members of the orchestra in the virtuosic song Circus Renz,  dance to Tutti-Frutti and Marina.

The DVD also marks André Rieu’s hundredth concert on the Vrijthof, with a very special and emotional awards ceremony by the Mayor of Maastricht for André Rieu, the most popular resident of the city.
